Functional Forum Meet Up, Brown Alpert Medical School

Reminder: Monday March 19, 2018

A New Vision for American Healthcare

Each month, the Functional Forum focuses on a specific topic of interest.  This month, they traveled back across the highlights of the past 50 Forums to showcase the main themes driving the success of our community.

The Functional Forum started a as a small NYC-based Meetup Group.  Over the last four years, it has grown to encompass 50 shows, 170 podcasts, countless conferences and summits, four unique practice development products, numerous media appearances and over 100 Meetup Groups across five countries.

As you know, in Rhode Island, we gather on the second Monday of the month (one week after the live Functional Forum event) to watch key highlights, network with each other, and elaborate on the topic of the month. This month we will have one guest speaker, Kathleen Mitchell, as well as an opportunity to share our successes and struggles of operating in this ever-changing world of healthcare.

Kathleen Mitchell

After working 30 plus years as a Licensed Dental Hygienist, and with a love for the Sciences and her patients, Kathleen studied to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Medicine. It was there that she discovered her passion for Functional Medicine. She became Certified in Full Body Systems through Functional Nutrition Alliance, earned an Advanced Certification in Functional Nutrition with Josh Gitalis and then became Certified in Applied Functional Medicine for Coaches through the School of Applied Functional Medicine.

Kathleen is the founder of Nourish Your Needs where she supports her clients one-on-one as a Functional Medicine Nutritionist & Lifestyle Practitioner. She is the co-founder of foodGEVITY, a women's online health program that teaches about the balance between the Foods That Feed You (Lifestyle) and The Foods On Your Fork (Nutrition). She loves to travel to present workshops and is the upcoming author of the book "Illness to Wellness, through Functional Medicine".
